Street parties are normally quite green events.
For starters you are all right outside your own door so you have nowhere to travel!
Residents will have all sorts of ideas around this and so it is a dialogue which you can only push so far as people want.
Some ideas:
Food – freshly cooked when possible, local seasonal mainly veggie brought to share – the sharing is important rather than being provided by a few because they may be greener. More ideas here.
Waste free challenge – Recycle any drinks packaging as normal – bring out the recycling bins aiminh to be as empty as possible.
Bring your own plates and cutlery for washing, not paper or plastic.
