The Local Government Association reports that councils are seeing a surge in applications for street parties.
The LGA has surveyed councils and found that residents are applying for road closures for street parties in higher number and much earlier than last year for the royal wedding. Its report is here.
This is in line with Streets Alive’s experience from enquiries to us and high activity on this street party website’s Jubilee page.
With more time to plan, councils being more organised and a summer date we expect 2 – 3 million people to hold street parties, which is 2 -3 times last year.
