Street parties quickly come to mind when thinking and hoping for the lifting of Lockdown.
We want to enjoy our freedoms with our neighbours and we are desparate to recover or build our community spirit.
Start planning now with your neighbours for your summer event.
Instead of a full street party you may want to hold a quick informal Street Meet with drinks and snacks, without a road closure in a garden, on a pavement, driveway or green space, and drink a toast with friends and neighbours. This would not need any permissions from your council or anyone else.
You may find that some in your street may still want to socially distance, or even someone in your street may have had a difficult time with the illness or even died. So you may want to plan your event with sensitivity and in memory of what has happened.
Perhaps have a Thanks and Thoughts board to write or stick things on?
