The Royal Couple Encourage Support for Charities
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced that they have personally chosen seven charities to benefit from donations in stead of of wedding gifts for their upcoming nuptials.
In response some street parties are raising funds during their event – see our guide.
One charity is Crisis which helps people directly out of homelessness, and campaigns to end it once and for all. In response to the news. Jon Sparkes, Chief Executive of Crisis, said:
“We are hugely grateful that Prince Harry and Ms Markle are asking the public to support Crisis as they celebrate their wedding. Homelessness is one of the most urgent issues of our time, but at Crisis we know what it takes to end it.
“Donations will help us to support more people to leave homelessness behind through our housing, employment, education and advice services across the country, and to campaign for the changes needed to solve the homelessness crisis once and for all.” Anyone wishing to donate to Crisis can do so here: www.crisis.org.uk/get-involved/royal-wedding/
The others charities are:
