The Street Party Site has joined other groups including Playing Out and the Big Lunch in asking the Government’s Sec. of State for Transport to appeal to councils to follow the best practice on closing roads for street parties.
At the same time we have asked for simplification on procedures for residents who want to organise regular play street events. This would be based on the current good practice developed by Playing Out with so far over 90 councils using Temporary Street Play Notices.
Inspired by the experience or idea of a street party, many residents want to give their children a chance to play with others in their street more regularly.
This has been led by Playing Out charity for 15 years. They help residents to make simple arrangements with temporary road closures, consultation with neighbours and road signs.
