Neighbourhood Watch and street parties |
|
|
Neighbourhood Watch groups often hold street parties to get people together. More residents will attend, unlike meetings. It is a chance to have a chat about the community safety issues. Also, knowing your neighbours better reduces fear of crime and anti-social behaviour. Street parties are more social and lighten things up a bit, rather than always worrying about crime. Some police forces like Avon & Somerset actively promote street parties to get neighbours together. The national Neighbourhood Watch website is http://www.neighbourhoodwatch.net/ FeedbackWe would welcome any comments or stories about how street parties have helped neighbourhood watch schemes. We could post them on this site. Please contact us. |
