Mayor of London chivying London councils to help road closures
Boris Johnson has put his full wait behind street parties.
He has asked all councils in London to be helpful to residents who want to close their road for a neighbours street party.
This pressure will help raise the stakes to encourage officers and Councillors to put their mind to simplifying procedures, avoiding charges and hopefully not requiring insurance.
This is a result of Streets Alive's efforts in helping residents to get on with what they do best - meeting their neighbours.
