Street Party Success In the Rain in Stockport

Residents were not put off by the rain

A party organiser of Grange Avenue wrote to tell Streets Alive:

'We had our party this Sunday 31st August. Despite the rain, it exceeded all of our expectations. We closed the road at 10am, and by ten past there was not a car in sight - I was amazed. The Mayor of Stockport came and we had a full page spread in the local paper.

Everybody really enjoyed themselves, and we are already thinking about next year's. The kids had a whale of a time, and nobody really noticed the rain.

The house is currently full of bunting drying out all over the place.
