Street Parties for Sapphire Jubilee
Another chance for a street party
The Queen's Sapphire Jubilee this year provides the traditional opportunity to hold a summer street party - a chance to meet the neighbours and for children to play in their street for a change.
The tradition for national days started in 1919 for the Peace Teas held in celebration after the war, a uniquely British affair.
Our key tips for a succesfull street party are to involve all neighbours of all ages in planning the event, you should not need insurance and hopefully not need to pay for road closures. See our guide here and the Government guidance which agrees with us.
