Residents in Bristol are planning socials with neighbours.

As part of our Age Friendy Streets Campaign mince pies and residents are being warmed up.

Other ideas include:

•    giving a card to those you know
•    popping round to someone who is alone
•    planning your summer street party for all ages

Streets Alive is talking to residents about Age Friendly Streets encouraging street meets and other neighbour activities. We find that a lot more is going on than you would think.

This is especally in Bishopston, Brislington, Eastville and greater Fishponds, with the support of the local Neighbourhood Partnerships coordinated by the Bristol Council.

The campaign is full of other ideas in the Toolkit by Streets Alive. It can reduce the isolation especially of older neighbours.

As Alan aged 81 said: “a few popped round and we had a good laugh about all sorts of things in the street .”

See here for more details about the campaign and survey results showing how the campaign works.
