About Streets Alive

Streets Alive is a charitable organisation that has been supporting residents to organise their own street parties since 2001. We also help community workers and councils to develop best practice in supporting street parties.

Street parties are a great part of British culture and have a long history. We hope to make them a widespread and regular feature of communities throughout the UK. We have filled up our streets with cars and we need to find ways of dealing with the effect on our communities, and a street party is a good way to start.

This website is about simple street parties, mainly in the UK, in a single residential street without general publicity. Larger community public events in more streets require other arrangements according their scale.

Streets Alive relies on donations and grants for most of our work as a not-for-profit group. Please donate whatever you can and let us know.
